Holding onto dry weather through the week
TODAY: While the first part of the morning will be sunny and pleasant, expect rising temperatures into the afternoon hours. Clouds will increase, with afternoon highs topping out near 84 degrees. Winds will be out of the south up to 9 mph, keeping the humidity on the rise. This will lead to heat indices near 86 degrees this afternoon.
TONIGHT: Temperatures will stay in the mid 60s through the night with mostly clear skies. With winds out of the southeast up to 8 mph it will feel a bit muggy through the night.
EXTENDED: Heat indices will climb into the lower 90s Friday which will be the more humid day of the week. We’ll pick up some afternoon clouds each day but dry weather looks to continue through the weekend. As Hurricane Florence makes landfall along the east coast, it will influence our weather greatly. Drier air over the Ohio River Valley will backtrack into the region keeping any rain chances at bay. The weather for Sports Zone Football Friday looks great with clear skies and temperatures dropping from the low 80s at 7 pm to the upper 70s by 9 pm. As of now, it looks like we will hold onto dry and warm weather through most of the weekend with a slight chance for a shower Sunday afternoon. More rain chances make their way back into the forecast next week but for now, it looks limited to spot showers through the middle of next week. Temperatures will briefly cool back into the upper 70s on Wednesday. Watch ABC 17 News for weather updates and check back here for the newest forecast.
