Sunny and warm to close out the week

TONIGHT: It’ll be a seasonal night across Mid-Missouri with temperatures bottoming out near 60 degrees. Areas of fog are possible to the river valleys, otherwise expect mostly clear skies. Winds through the night will be out of the southeast under 8 mph.

THURSDAY: While the first part of the morning will be sunny and pleasant, expect rising temperatures into the afternoon hours. Clouds will increase to mostly sunny through the day, with afternoon highs topping out near 84 degrees. Winds will be out of the south up to 9 mph, keeping the humidity on the rise. This will lead to heat indices near 86 degrees.

EXTENDED: As high pressure aloft builds, temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 80s Thursday and into the weekend with slightly more humidity. Heat indices will climb into the lower 90s Friday which will be the more humid day of the week. We’ll pick up some afternoon clouds each day but dry weather looks to continue through the weekend. As Hurricane Florence makes landfall along the east coast, it will influence our weather greatly. Drier air over the Ohio River Valley will backtrack into the region keeping any rain chances at bay.The weather for Sports Zone Football Friday looks great with clear skies and temperatures dropping from the low 80s at 7 pm to the upper 70s by 9 pm. As of now, it looks like we will hold onto dry and warm weather through the weekend with rain chances making their way back into the forecast by Tuesday evening of next week.
