UPDATE: Troopers confirm one person dead after I-70 crash near Kingdom City

UPDATE (8:35 a.m.): Troopers confirmed one person is dead after a crash on I-70 eastbound Sunday night.

Ariel Perkins, 21, died on scene of the crash.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Perkins used an emergency turn-around on the interstate to get from the westbound lanes to the eastbound lanes of the interstate and was hit by another vehicle. Both vehicles went off the road.

Emergency crews took the driver of the other vehicle to the hospital.

Original story: Emergency crews responded to a crash on Interstate 70 late Sunday night near Kingdom City.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. on the I-70 exit ramp onto Highway 54.

An ABC 17 News crew saw troopers working around two vehicles on the exit ramp.

The crash did not result in any closures on the ramp or interstate.
