Rain chances continuing into Saturday

TODAY: While it may not be the most beautiful day to get out and enjoy, some much-needed rainfall will be continuing in Mid-Missouri. East of HWY 63 looks to see the higher rainfall totals through the morning hours, with another 1-2″ possible. The bulk of the heavy rain will move into Illinois this afternoon, but we’ll still see some lingering showers hanging on into the evening. Temperatures will be slightly warmer in the morning hours before falling into the lower 60s in the afternoon. It will be breezy as well throughout the day, with winds out of the northeast around 12-18 mph with gusts as high as 30 mph.

TONIGHT: Hit and miss showers will be moving out of the area as we head toward sunrise. Mostly cloudy skies will keep our temperatures nearly steady, dropping to near 60 for an overnight low. Winds will relax a bit as what is left of Gordon moves into the Ohio Valley region.

EXTENDED: Winds out of the north on the backside of this system will set the stage for a fall-like Sunday. Clouds will be hard to clear out into the afternoon, helping to hold us in the low to mid 70s for afternoon highs. A quiet weather pattern will take hold in Mid-Missouri throughout much of the next week. Monday will be a great day to get out and enjoy the weather, with plenty of sunshine and highs reaching the mid to upper 70s. We’ll see a warming trend as we head throughout the week, with high temperatures warming to the middle 80s by Friday. Watch ABC 17 News on air and online for the latest forecast updates.
