Increasing rain through Saturday- Flash Flood Watch
***FLASH FLOOD WATCH TONIGHT UNTIL 7 AM SUNDAY***
TONIGHT: Expect scattered showers and storms to stick around through the night under overcast skies, with lows bottoming out in the upper 60s. Some could produce locally heavy rain. We’ll see winds out of the northeast up to 10 mph.
FRIDAY: Scattered showers and t-storms Friday will focus on areas north of I-70 early in the day but as moisture ahead of the circulation from Gordon moves in from the south, showers and storms will increase from the south later in the afternoon and Friday evening. Some of the storms could have heavy rainfall. High temperatures will reach the mid to upper 70s with east to northeast winds up to 10 mph.
EXTENDED: Flooding will become a possibility by Friday night through Saturday with rising rivers and possible flash flooding where rainfall rates are highest. The rain will be lighter in our southwestern counties Saturday but heavier east of HWY 63, gradually tapering off to light showers by evening. Light rain could linger until early Sunday morning in our eastern counties. Rainfall amounts from Thursday night through Saturday night are expected to come in at 1-2 in our southwestern counties, and 2-3 elsewhere with locally up to 5 inches possible, especially along and east of HWY 63. With the rain in place, we’ll also see cooler conditions with highs this weekend only near 70 Saturday and low 70s Sunday. We’ll see more sunshine next week and temperatures will warm back into the mid 80s by next Thursday. Make sure to stay tuned to ABC 17 News for the latest on the changing weather pattern.
