According to a news release, there were nearly 1,400 applications this year for Riddell’s annual program. Fayette was one of the 18 winning schools.

The release also said Fayette’s coaches are all USA Football “Heads Up”-certified. They teach their players “hawk tackling” techniques, which is a safer way to play the game.

The Falcons are also getting it done off of the field. The team has a reading program in place where varsity players read to elementary school children in the area.

The Fayette football team is 2-0 this season. The Falcons will play at Schuyler County this Friday at 7 p.m.
