Heat advisory in effect for most of Mid-Missouri

TODAY: Another day of heat and humidity will be in store for Mid-Missouri. Breezy conditions will make it feel slightly more tolerable as temperatures make it into the middle 90s for highs this afternoon. Heat indices will be anywhere from 100-105 in the afternoon as well.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear skies will help us cool off as much as we can with a southerly breeze. Winds won’t be quite as gusty as we see earlier in the day, but will be blowing around 10-12 mph. Overnight lows only drop into the middle 70s by sunrise.

EXTENDED: The heat holds strong through Tuesday morning, but we’re continuing to track an approaching cold front, still slated to arrive late Tuesday. With this front, we have the potential to see more beneficial rainfall and usher in some cooler temperatures for Wednesday. Afternoon highs only look to top out in the low to mid 80s Wednesday. However, this relief appears to be short-lived as we return to above average temperatures heading into next weekend.
