Cheddar’s warns customers of data breach
Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen is warning of a data breach that could put customers of its Missouri locations at risk for fraud.
The restaurant said in a statement posted online that it learned last week that someone gained access to its network between Nov. 3 and Jan. 2. The breach applies to restaurants in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
The chain operates a location in Columbia.
The company said the breach happened on a network that was disabled and replaced on April 10 and there are no indications of breaches on the new network. Cheddar’s is urging customers to enroll in an identity theft protection service and put a fraud alert on cards. The company will pay for customers to use a service called ID Experts.
