FBI on scene in south Columbia
The FBI was on scene investigating in 1000 block of Southampton Drive in Columbia Thursday afternoon. The Columbia Police Department assisted in the investigation, according to officers on scene.
Law enforcement searched a home on the corner of Forum Boulevard and Southampton Drive.
ABC 17 News crews observed officers come in and out of the home, and they appeared to be collecting evidence.
ABC 17 News also spoke to neighbors in area. Nearby residents were shocked to hear about the investigation and said they never see police in the area.
“Zero. The only thing that you see here is ambulances for some type of medical problem,” Thomas Ringhofer told ABC 17 News.
According to dispatch records, police have never been called to the Southampton home in the past year.
