Warm weekend with another chance of rain on the way

TODAY: We will start off the weekend on a warm and dry note for your Saturday. Partly cloudy skies will help us warm up to the upper 80s for highs, with winds will be out of the northeast this afternoon up to 10 mph, keeping our heat indices in check.

TONIGHT: Overnight, temperatures will fall to the upper 60s under partly cloudy skies. Some of the cooler spots around Mid-Missouri could see some patchy fog develop, as winds calm and turn out of a more southeasterly direction.

EXTENDED: On Sunday, we’ll see cloud cover begin to roll in from the west in the later morning hours ahead of our next system. Latest data this morning continues to show showers holding off until the afternoon hours, and increasing in coverage from the west. The better chance of seeing more widespread rainfall will be late on Sunday night. We could hear a couple rumbles of thunder with this system, but no severe threat at this moment. Scattered and storms stick around on Monday as the cold front associated with this system works through the region. High pressure behind this front will bring some beautiful weather for the month of August Tuesday and lasting through Thursday. We’ll see plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the lower 80s and lower humidity. A slight rain chance returns toward the end of the week as temperatures begin to warm.
