Tracking clouds returning Sunday, Rain possible by early Monday
TONIGHT: We fall back into the upper 60s overnight, with partly cloudy conditions holding on. We’ll see winds steady out of the east at 4-7 mph. Some patchy fog east of HWY 63 is possible.
TOMORROW: Sunday will start out with more sun than clouds, but that will continue to chance into the afternoon. We’re tracking increasing cloud cover from the southwest ahead of our next round of rainfall which arrives late Sunday. Temperatures will top out in the mid-80s.
EXTENDED: The system approaching the area is going to be fighting dry air once again. The rainfall we’ve received over the past several days has helped moisten the atmosphere some, but we’re still not looking to make any major strides towards drought relief. The rain comes in two waves, one late Sunday/early Monday between 2-7am, and then another round of more scattered showers develops on the back side of the low pressure system into Monday afternoon. The heaviest rainfall is likely north of I-70, where up to an inch of rain is possible. Portions of Mid-Missouri along I-70 and north of HWY 54 will see anywhere between 0.25″-0.50″ of rain. Behind that system we’re tracking cooler than average temperatures, low humidities and that looks to last until Friday, before a warm up next weekend. Watch ABC 17 for the latest forecast.
