Power restored to hundreds of customers after construction crew knocks down lines

UPDATE: According to the Ameren power outage map, power was restored to nearly a 1,000 customers around 9:15 p.m.

Ameren initially predicted power may not be back on until 11 p.m.

Crews had to shut down Interstate 70 at Route 87 to put the power lines back in place.

ORIGINAL: Hundreds of Ameren Missouri customers lost power in Cooper County Friday after a construction crew knocked down lines near interstate 70.

According to Ameren’s outage map, 947 customers lost service around 5 p.m.

Ameren said it had to shut down the interstate to remove the lines and will need to shut it down again to put the lines back up.

Ameren estimates the power will be restored at 11 p.m.
