Storms tonight, possibly strong to severe

TONIGHT: Storms will increase from the west 8-9 PM, some of which could be strong to severe, with the threat of damaging winds and large hail. The strongest storms will happen earlier in the night as the severe threat diminishes past midnight. The greatest threat for severe storms is in western counties. Storms could produce heavy rain but no flooding is expected. Storms will move to the southeast and mainly out of the area by 7 AM with low temperatures in the upper 60s.

FRIDAY: Storms will end early Friday morning with only spot showers possible Friday afternoon, behind a trailing cold front. High temperatures will reach the mid to upper 80s Friday with northerly winds up to 10 mph.

EXTENDED: For the weekend, Saturday looks dry with highs in the upper 80s. After a brief period of dry time this weekend, spot storm chances will increase Sunday afternoon, with the better chance of rain Sunday night into Monday. A cold front passes through Monday afternoon with decreasing rain chances.Tuesday looks mainly dry with only a spot shower chance. High temperatures will come in below the seasonal averages through Wednesday, reaching the low to mid 80s. Watch ABC 17 News on air, and online for the latest up to date weather forecasts.
