I-70 westbound ramps at Route BB to close for repair

Work is continuing on the Route BB bridge over Interstate 70 this week with pavement repairs to ramps.

Both westbound I-70 ramps at the interchange near Rocheport will be closed from 10 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday, the Missouri Department of Transportation said. Work will then be suspended until 7 p.m. Friday and the ramps will be closed until 5 a.m. Monday.

Westbound I-70 drivers should use the Route O/J interchange about two miles east of Route BB and exit onto westbound I-70 then use to Route J to access Route BB. After turning onto Route J, drivers should head north to Highway 40, then onto Highway 240, which leads into Rocheport and to Route BB.

Drivers who want to access westbound I-70 from Route BB should take Route BB to Rocheport, get on Highway 240 and then Highway 40 to access Route J, which will lead to I-70.

MoDOT said the Route BB bridge will close Monday for rehabilitation and will remain closed until October. At the end of the project, MoDOT said, contractors will tie the roadway into the rehabilitated bridge.

Drivers should be aware of one-lane closures going both directions of I-70 at night during the bridge project. Work will take place between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

MoDOT said closure dates will be provided as the project approaches completion and warned that plans can change because of weather.
