Traffic Alert: Portion of Highway 41 closes for railroad crossing work

Highway 41 in Cooper County will be closed because Union Pacific crews will be working on the railroad crossing Sunday through Tuesday.

The portion closed is north of I-70, near Lamine.

Crews will close Highway 41 between 4 a.m. and 12 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday for the work.

Drivers will be detoured around the area.

Crews at the work site said they are replacing some of the steel tracks because they were getting too worn down.

ABC 17 News has reached out to Union Pacific for more information about the work. Once more information is available, this story will be updated.
