One person killed in Macon County motorcycle crash

One person is dead and another is injured after a motorcycle crash in Macon County Thursday night.

It happened on Route C, just south of Bevier around 8:40 p.m.

The driver, Phillip Long, 74, hit a deer in the road, throwing both him and his passenger off the motorcycle, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

Sheila Long, 75, was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Crews also transported Phillip Long to University Hospital with serious injuries.
