UPDATE: Boone County deputies arrest man for fight involving gun
UPDATE (8/7 10 A.M.): The Boone County Sheriff’s Department confirmed deputies arrested a man in south Columbia Monday night in connection to a disturbance with a gun.
Hunter Burks, 22, is in the Boone County Jail Tuesday morning.
Deputies first responded to the 7800 block of Tomlin Hill Road around 2:30 p.m. Monday for a report of a physical fight involving a gun, according to Det. Tom O’Sullivan.
Burks reportedly got threatened his father with a loaded gun and fired off one shot. No one was hurt in the shooting, but the father did suffer injuries in the fight.
Burks fled the scene before deputies arrived. They later found Burks at a home on Louise Circle several hours later and took him into custody, according to O’Sullivan.
UPDATE: Deputies cleared the scene just before 8 p.m.
ORIGINAL: The Boone County Sheriff’s Department detained one person after responding to a home in south Columbia.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Louise Circle around 6:30 p.m.
ABC 17 News saw several deputies approaching the home and yelling to someone through the front door.
Deputies were later seen escorting someone out of the home.
Deputies at the scene said it is an ongoing investigation.
