A Fulton man could face new charges in Callaway County after police accused him of breaking and entering into another person’s home early Friday morning.

According to the Fulton Police Department, officers responded to the 100 block of Whitlow Drive around 4:50 a.m. for a reported burglary in process.

Police said officers were told the homeowner had the suspect at gunpoint but the suspect had since run away from the home.

Investigators later identified the suspect as Joe W. Simms, 51.

Officers later located and arrested Simms, who was taken to the Callaway County Jail with no bond.

Simms faces possible charges of first-degree burglary and possession of burglary tools.
