Law enforcement officers locate endangered child in mid-Missouri
UPDATE 12:09 P.M.: Deputies said the boy who was the subject of a Benton County endangered person alert sent out over the weekend was found safe in mid-Missouri.
Four-year-old Grayson Darnell and his noncustodial parent, Julie Darnell, 36, of Warsaw, were located in Moniteau County Wednesday morning after she flagged down a concrete truck and the driver called 911.
Grayson was taken to the hospital and was later released unhurt.
Deputies took Julie into custody on multiple outstanding warrants and several possible new charges.
According to the Warsaw Police Department, Julie is accused of taking Grayson without permission from a home in Warsaw early Sunday morning.
The Moniteau County Sheriff’s Office started looking for the boy and the woman after a stolen vehicle was discovered abandoned outside a home in High Point, Missouri on Sunday.
Troopers with the highway patrol, the Cole County Sheriff’s Office and Morgan County Sheriff’s Office helped with the search.

Deputies said 4-year-old Grayson Darnell and his noncustodial parent, Julie Darnell, have been located.
More information, including when and where the child and woman were found, hasn’t been released.
The Benton County Sheriff’s Department issued an endangered person alert for Grayson after he was last seen in Warsaw, Missouri around 3 a.m. Sunday.
