UPDATE: Deputies say suspects fled from traffic stop near Clearview Drive
UPDATE 4:34 p.m.: A deputy with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department said they were initially stopping a car for a traffic violation.
They said during the stop, they realized the car was involved in another incident with the Columbia Police Department.
He said multiple passengers fled the scene.
ORIGINAL: ABC 17 News has confirmed there is a law enforcement presence in north Columbia right now off Brown School Road on Clearview Drive.
Columbia police and Boone County deputies have reportedly set up a perimeter. There are police cars at the entrances to the subdivision.
ABC 17 News is working to confirm with law enforcement why they are in the area.
