Bridge rehabilitation project on I-70 in Boone County starts next week
Bridge rehabilitation work could create delays for drivers on Interstate 70 in western Boone County next week.
The Missouri Department of Transportation expects to start the project on the Route BB bridge over I-70 near Rocheport at 10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2.
Both eastbound I-70 ramps to and from Route BB will close for pavement repairs. Work on the eastbound ramps will be suspended and will reopen Friday, Aug. 3. The eastbound ramps will close again at 7 p.m. Friday to allow crews to continue the repairs.
According to MoDOT, the project is expected to be completed around 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6.
Drivers could find nightly lane closures in both directions of I-70 during the week of the Aug. 6 during the bridge repair project.
Future traffic impacts from the project also include:
Friday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. — Both westbound I-70 ramps to and from Route BB will close for pavement repair until Monday, Aug. 13 at 5 a.m. Route BB will close for two months starting Monday, Aug. 13 for bridge rehabilitation work. The ramps will be open for most of the project but will close near the end of the repairs. Ramp closure dates will later be determined during the project. The bridge is expected to be completed in early October.
