UPDATE: One person hurt in Boone County crash on Route Z

UPDATE (7/26 6:15 a.m.): The driver injured in the Route Z crash has been identified as Tony Copenhaver, 50.

A highway patrol crash report said Copenhaver’s vehicle went off the side of the road, hit an embankment and he overcorrected. That caused the SUV to roll several times.

Emergency crews transported Copenhaver to University Hospital with serious injuries.

UPDATE: Route Z is now back open.

ORIGINAL: One person was taken to the hospital after a rollover crash Wednesday night in Boone County.

It happened around 6 p.m. near St. Charles Road and Route Z.

The Boone County Fire Protection District said one person was thrown from the vehicle.

Route Z is currently closed from St. Charles Road to Mexico Gravel Road.

ABC 17 News is working to find out what caused the crash.
