Web Extra: Cuonzo Martin talks schedule changes, Tilmon and Porter’s progression

Mizzou basketball coach Cuonzo Martin announced the Tigers scheduled a home game against Temple for the 2018-19 season.

Martin said the exact date and time have not been finalized as he spoke to media members Tuesday.

The move comes after Mizzou and Utah pushed back their game at Mizzou Arena to 2019. Martin said Mizzou may look to add one more game to its schedule, but he said the schedule is “pretty much set.”

Temple joins Oral Roberts, UCF, Xavier, Central Arkansas, Illinois, Kennesaw State and Iowa State as the confirmed 2018 non-conference opponents for Mizzou.

Martin also said guard Cullen VanLeer has been in the weight room after tearing his ACL in March. Martin said it is a slow process to find out whether or not he will be ready for the season.

Incoming freshman guard Xavier Pinson is back home dealing with a personal issue according to Cuonzo Martin. Martin said it is nothing to worry about, and Pinson will rejoin the team shortly.
