Showers & t-storms possible through the morning

THURSDAY: Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely into the morning hours, mainly along and north of I-70. Any storms will gradually shift to the southeast through the day, as an associated low pressure system tracks to our north. Any storms that form through today could bring the threat for damaging winds and large hail. Despite the storms and clouds in place, it will be a hot and humid day across Mid-Missouri. Temperatures will top out in the upper 80s and lower 90s, with heat indices near 100 degrees. Heat advisories will go into effect for parts of Mid-Missouri at noon and last until 8 PM. If you are going to be outside remember to exercise caution.

TONIGHT: Isolated showers and storms are possible again tonight, with the best chance south of I-70. Tonight temperatures will drop close to 70 with winds remaining out of the south up to 7 mph. With southerly flow remaining in place, it will continue to be slightly humid through the night.

EXTENDED: A cold front will move through Friday bringing afternoon dry time and pleasant conditions for the weekend ahead. Winds will shift to the north behind this front, ushering in cooler, drier air. The upcoming weekend looks mostly sunny with highs in the upper 80s to near 90 and nights in the upper 60s. As we head into next week, the pattern looks to remain fairly quiet and seasonal. Afternoon highs will top out near 90 everyday, with overnight lows in the upper 60s.
