Boone County Fair Carnival gets the green light

The State Fire Marshal has given the Boone County Fair the green light to open the carnival rides to the public Wednesday afternoon.

Assistant Chief – Gale Blomenkamp of the Boone County Fire District said the inspection problems Tuesday night were so minor, he would not even call them safety issues.

He said some of the issues were- “missing cotter keys, knots in a seatbelt loop, and numbering of some of the rides.”

But he said, after the State Fire Marshal’s inspection, he has confidence in the rides’ safety.

“You know, when they’re inspected the way the State Fire Marshal inspects these rides, I was with her when she was going through them, it’s with a fine-tooth comb, she don’t mess with anything,” said Blomenkamp.

The fair will last through Saturday evening, and the entry fee is $10.
