One person arrested for filing false police report that inspired MU Alert

UPDATE

9:30 p.m.:

University of Missouri Police Department arrested Rex Monroe on suspicion of filing a false police report Tuesday.

Monroe reported a robbery near Hospital Drive.

Police say Monroe gave conflicting information about what items were taken, the location of the vehicles involved and the timeline of events.

UPDATE:

MU Alert sent an update saying the two robbery suspects have not been found and are no longer in the area. Campus was given the all clear, but officials said police continue to investigate.

ORIGINAL:

An MU Alert sent out Tuesday night notified the community of a robbery near Hospital Drive and Tiger Avenue.

The alert said police are responding and encouraged the public to stay away from or leave the area.
