Comfortable week ahead, with storms possible
MONDAY: It’s a fairly warm afternoon across Mid-Missouri, as temperatures are climbing into the low to mid 90s. A cold front tracking through the area is bringing the return of drier air, so it won’t be as humid through the day. Heat indices will only top out near 95, with the chance for a few spot storms. Winds through the day remain out of the north up to 10 mph.
TONIGHT: By this evening, the cold front will have tracked through Mid-Missouri. This will set up a pleasant evening, as temperatures will bottom out in the upper 60s. Northeasterly winds up to 9 mph will continue to reinforce the drier air. It’ll still remain slightly humid, but overall more comfortable than recent nights.
EXTENDED: Thanks to the cold front, Tuesday will be a beautiful day with cooler temperatures and much lower humidity values. We will see a lot more sunshine and this makes Tuesday one of the best days to get out this week. There is a chance that into the evening hours we’ll see some showers and storms begin to develop along and west of Hwy 63. For now isolated storms look best for the region, but most locations will remain dry. Wednesday will be another comfortable day as well with heat indices back in the upper 80s. We’re going to track a series of low pressure systems roll through Mid-Missouri this week bringing the chance at some much needed widespread rain across the region. With a cutoff low tracking to the north of us expect scattered storms through the tail end of your work week. Overnight storm chances look like the best time for more widespread rainfall for both Wednesday and Thursday night. Rainfall totals aren’t too impressive, only ranging up to 1″. The weekend ahead looks gorgeous with dry conditions, pleasant temperatures, and low humidity. Check back with ABC 17 News for the latest forecast and updates throughout the week.
