Cole County Teenagers Seriously Hurt After Hitting Tree Monday Afternoon

Two Cole County teenagers are in serious condition after hitting a tree Monday afternoon.

According to the highway patrol, the teens were traveling in a 2004 Ford Taurus when it went off the right side of Henwick Lane, near Deer Ridge, around 12:40 p.m.

Troopers said the vehicle hit two mailboxes, an embankment, and a tree before it stopped.

Both teens were taken to University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
