Three men arrested in countywide theft investigation

The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office arrested three men Thursday following an investigation into the theft of items across the county.

According to a press release, deputies executed two search warrants at a property in the 3000 block of County Road 328 and found several thousand dollars’ worth of items that had been reported stolen.

Authorities said the thefts included trailers, all-terrain vehicles, farm equipment and other items in the Fulton, New Bloomfield and Holts Summit areas.

Prosecutors charged Russell Barnes, 33, and Russell Barnes Sr., 56, of Fulton, on Friday with several counts of felony stealing. Barnes was also charged with tampering with a motor vehicle.

A third man, Alvine Barnes, 25, also of Fulton, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of an illegal weapon.

According to the press release, further arrests could be made.
