Hot, sticky weekend with storm chances
***HEAT ADVISORY UNTIL 8 PM SATURDAY***
TONIGHT: Spotty showers and t-storms are possible overnight and will end by daybreak Saturday. These are not expected to be severe. Lows will only drop into the mid to upper 70s by morning.
SATURDAY: The hot, humid weather continues as high temperatures climb into the mid 90s with heat indices up to 106 in the afternoon. Skies will be partly cloudy with a chance of t-storms in the afternoon and early evening. These will be widely scattered and are not expected to be severe. However, a strong storm is possible with gusty winds and frequent lightning.
EXTENDED: Storms are possible Saturday night into early Sunday morning, pushing south of I-70 early Sunday. Additional storms are possible Sunday afternoon into evening as high temperatures reach the lower 90s. As a cold front moves south Monday, we’ll continue to see a chance of storms and temperatures will cool down a bit, to near 90 Monday. Tuesday looks dry with highs near 90, dropping to the upper 80s Wednesday with a slight storm chance. Another storm system will affect the area by next Thursday, bringing scattered showers and t-storms, ending Thursday night. Temperatures will stay in the 80s through the end of next week.
