House fire on McBaine Dr. ‘quickly extinguished’
UPDATE 4:51 P.M.: The fire crew found a fire in the backyard which had spread to the outside wall of the residence. Damages were isolated to that area, according to the press release.
One person was home at the time of the fire and was notified of the incident by a subject driving in the area. There were no injuries and damages are estimated at $10,000.
The Columbia Fire Department Fire Marshal’s Office said the cause of the fire was smoking materials discarded near combustible materials.
ORIGINAL STORY: According to Twitter, Columbia Fire is on scene of a house fire in the 300 block of McBaine Ave.
The fire was at the back of the home and was “quickly extinguished.”
The Columbia Fire Marshals are on scene to investigate. There were no reported injuries.
