Woman accused of child molestation previously worked at Boonville School District

A woman charged in Cooper County with statutory sodomy and child molestation worked at the Boonville School District.

The district confirmed today that Brady Anton was employed by the district from Aug. 16, 2006 to May 19, 2010.

Anton was charged in June after deputies with the Cooper County Sheriff’s Office and investigators with the Missouri State Highway Patrol executed a search warrant on West End Street.

Authorities said the charges stemmed from an ongoing investigation of contact between Anton and underage children between 2010 and 2013.

The district notified parents with the following letter:

Dear Parents and Patrons,

We were notified by the Cooper County Sheriff’s Department that a former employee who resigned eight years ago from the District was being investigated regarding claims of misconduct against minors.

The District is fully cooperating with the investigation of the Sheriff’s Department. As the charges proceed through the criminal justice system, we will monitor the situation closely and take any further actions that are necessary.

The District has a zero tolerance policy in regards to inappropriate contact by staff against minors. Safety is of the utmost importance to our District and we remain keenly focused on our commitment to provide a quality education in a safe environment for all of our students.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at the District’s offices.
