Man arrested in connection to June 30 shooting on Forest Avenue

Columbia Police detectives arrested Douglas Antonio Lee, 39, of Columbia in reference to the domestic disturbance where shots were fired on June 30 on Forest Avenue near Grand Avenue.

“Lee was identified through the investigation and on July 6, detectives with the Street Crimes Unit responded to the 6100 block of Wagon Trail Road in efforts of locating Lee. Detectives observed Lee sitting in a vehicle in the area. As detectives exited their vehicle, Lee fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, Lee was detained,” said the press release.

Detectives found two baggies. One had 4.01 grams of methamphetamine inside of it and the other had approximately .22 grams of a powdery substance inside of it.

Lee was arrested for felony armed criminal action, felony unlawful use of weapons, felony unlawful for certain persons to possess a concealable firearm, first degree felony domestic assault, felony resisting arrest and felony possession of a controlled substance.
