Heat & humidity ramps up this week

MONDAY: We start off the day on the warm and sunny side. You’ll definitely feel that extra humidity out the door, but we will be dry for the morning commute. The chance for a spot shower comes in the early afternoon hours as we begin to warm into the upper 80s and low 90s. Daytime heating will allow for isolated pop storm to develop across Mid-Mo, but most areas stay dry. Heat indices will rise into close too 100 by later today.

TONIGHT: Another quite, but warm night is in store for mid-Missouri. Under partly cloudy skies temperatures will dip into the low 70s by morning, with muggy conditions remaining.

EXTENDED: Tuesday could follow the same pattern as Monday, except a touch warmer. Spot showers look to blossom east of HWY 63, again nothing will be widespread. We’re watching the potential for a weak cold front to track through the area Wednesday. This could bring relief from the heat & humidity providing for some more comfortable conditions, but it will be short lived. The frontal passage will not bring any rain as we remain dry for the most of the week. By the end of the week heat indices will be back to 100-105, with a scattered storm chances increasing Friday afternoon.
