Heat and humidity settle back into Mid-MO this week, drought worsens
TONIGHT: We’ll see humidity on the rise tonight and in response temperatures drop close to 70 overnight. We’ll see increasing cloud cover as well. Winds stay light out of the ESE.
MONDAY: We start off tomorrow warm and partly sunny. You’ll definitely feel that extra humidity out the door but we look to stay dry for your morning commute. Better chance for rain comes in the early afternoon hours as we begin to warm into the upper 80s and low 90s. That will allow for isolated pop up showers and storms to develop across Mid-Mo, but the idea is the isolated nature… not everyone will see precipitation, but those who do get under one could see a heavy downpour.
EXTENDED: Tuesday could follow the same idea as Monday, except a touch warmer. Spot showers look to blossom south of I-70… again a hit or miss scenario, nothing terribly widespread. We’re watching the potential for a cold front to retrograde across the area Wednesday which has to possibility to bring temperatures and dew points down providing for some comfort and relief, but heat and humidity take hold again by the end of our week. No big time rains in the forecast this week, so the drought continues on.
