UPDATE: Troopers identify 13-year-old drowning victim at Lake of the Ozarks

UPDATE – 7/5: The Missouri State Highway Patrol identified the 13-year-old boy as Eric Dietrich.

The official report says Dietrich likely had a medical condition when he jumped off a boat at the Lake of the Ozarks Wednesday.

Troopers say the boy did not resurface after entering the water.

Dietrich was later found and pronounced dead at the scene.

UPDATE: The body of the young boy was found, the Highway Patrol confirms.

Divers from Osage Beach Fire and Mid-County Fire departments recovered the body Wednesday.

ORIGINAL: The Highway Patrol confirms dive teams are currently searching for a 13-year-old boy in Salt Hollow Cove at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Sergeant Scott White said they received a call around 4:00 p.m. that they boy had jumped off an anchored boat and did not resurface.

The search is ongoing.
