Woman charged after conspiring with inmate to bring heroin into Algoa Correctional Center

A woman has been charged with delivery of a controlled substance after trying to “introduce” heroin to Algoa Correctional Center in Jefferson City.

On Jan. 1, 2018, Investigator Hazelton approached 30-year-old Alisha Blair in the parking lot of the prison.

Blair revealed to Hazelton that she had heroin on her person. She took a plastic bag out from under her shirt and gave it to Hazelton.

Blair admitted to conspiring with an inmate about bringing heroin into the prison by concealing it inside of a bathroom trash can. Blair was supposed to be compensated monetarily for bringing heroin into the prison.

Three grams of heroin were found in the plastic bag Blair gave to Hazelton, worth $600.
