*HEAT ADVISORY ISSUED FOR THE REST OF MID-MISSOURI UNITL 10 PM SATURDAY*

TONIGHT: Temperatures will only drop into the mid to upper 70s by daybreak Saturday. Skies remain mostly clear with winds out of the south from 5 to 7 mph.

SATURDAY: The hot, sticky weather continues Saturday as high temperatures reach the mid to upper 90s and heat indices climb up to 108 degrees under sunny skies.

EXTENDED: The ridge of high pressure aloft will break down starting Sunday, which will allow a cold front to track through the region. There is a chance of showers early Sunday morning in our northwestern counties from dying storms to our west-northwest. Temperatures will climb to near 90 Sunday with scattered showers and storms by Sunday afternoon and evening. We’ll monitor Sunday’s storms for the potential of being strong or possibly severe. The is a marginal risk for severe weather bringing the chance for damaging winds and large hail. The weak frontal boundary will stall over the area Monday and lift back north Tuesday, keeping our storm chances going into early next week. By the 4th of July, high pressure aloft strengthens once again and it looks hot and humid with highs in the mid 90s and heat indices at 102-105.
