Man arrested in connection with central Columbia shooting Wednesday night
UPDATE 5:13 P.M.: The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to ABC 17 News Thursday afternoon that a Phillip Anthony Lawson, 31, is in the Randolph County jail. ABC 17 News is told Lawson has the same criminal charges as the suspect wanted in Wednesday night’s shooting on McBaine Avenue in central Columbia.
UPDATE 3:05 P.M.: The Columbia Police Department announced it issued a no bond warrant for Phillip Anthony Lawson, 31, in connection to the shooting on McBaine Avenue Wednesday night.

ORIGINAL STORY: A man is facing charges in connection with a shooting in Columbia Wednesday.
Phillip Anthony Lawson, 31, is charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of weapons after a man was found in the area of McBaine Avenue and Lynn Street with multiple gunshot wounds.
According to a probable cause statement, the victim told officers that Lawson fled the scene after the shooting. He was wearing a blue shirt, gray shorts, and blue tennis shoes. Authorities found the clothing items when searching his home.
A witness told officers Lawson was arguing with the victim before the shooting.
Once in custody, Lawson will be held without bond.
