Another hot day Monday, Thankfully heat relief is in sight
**HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR ALL OF MID-MISSOURI UNTIL MONDAY AT 8PM**
TONIGHT: Another uncomfortable evening is in store as temperatures settle into the middle 70s. We remain under mostly clear skies. Winds will be light out of the south at 6 to 9 mph.
MONDAY: Monday will be another hot day as temperatures climb into the mid-90s. We will also see heat index values above 100 degrees into the afternoon hours. It’s important to stay hydrated and make sure to properly apply sunscreen if you have to be outdoors. Strenuous outdoor activity is not advised with dangerous heat in the forecast.
EXTENDED : A fairly significant shift in upper level activity will signal to a pattern change across mid-Missouri. As we break down the stubborn ridge over the southeast, it will give way to seasonal temperatures across much of the region. The depression of that ridge will also give an opportunity for the stationary boundary, which has been responsible for heavy rains/severe weather for the Northern Plains over the past several days, to push south into the midwest. Increasing rain chances and some chances to catch up on our drought look to be in order. Watch ABC 17 News for the latest forecast and check back here for updates.
