Heat Advisory in effect through this weekend
TODAY: We start off on the warm side this morning with temperatures still in the middle 70s across Mid-Missouri. It won’t take long for us to warm up this morning under mostly clear skies, with temperatures nearing 90 by 10 AM. Highs will be in the middle 90s this afternoon with heat indices in the 100-105 range for much of the area, where a heat advisory is in effect. We have an isolated chance for a storm or two to pop up with this afternoon heating.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear conditions will continue into the evening and overnight hours as we dip into the middle 70s for overnight lows thanks to that southerly wind at 6-10 mph.
EXTENDED: This upper level ridge holding this heat and humidity in place will stay overhead through Monday. Temperatures will top out in the middle 90s with heat indices reaching above 100 Sunday and Monday. This ridge begins to break down on Tuesday and a front will slide into the area and stall, bringing us better chances for rain and cooling off our temperatures into the middle 80s.
