24-year-old woman and one-year-old juvenile victims of armed burglary
Columbia Police officers were called to the 2800 block of Mexico Gravel Road at 12:03 a.m. on Wednesday morning for a burglary with a gun.
The investigation revealed a 24-year-old female victim and a one-year-old juvenile were inside a home in the area when the woman heard a knock at the door.
The woman answered the door and saw a female suspect.
According to the press release, the female suspect stepped back and three black male suspects forced their way into the home. One of the suspects brandished a firearm and held the victim while the other two searched the residence.

He had minor injuries from the hit but said his son is recovering.
The suspects took property from the victim before fleeing the area. The press release said the investigation is on-going.
The father also said he did not know the suspects.
Catherine Stochmal has lived on Mexico Gravel Road for 11 years and said there are areas in the neighborhood that “aren’t safe, they aren’t good.”
But said she was surprised that a child was slapped in her neighborhood during this home burglary.
