Hot & humid for weekend plans

SATURDAY: After a sunny start to the day we will see dry conditions with high temperatures in the low 90s. The humidity will make it feel more like the upper 90s, close to 100 degrees, under partly cloudy skies. An isolated storm can’t be ruled out this afternoon mainly to the southeast along I-44.

TONIGHT: Storms are possible again overnight tonight and into early Sunday with the best chance east of HWY 63 and north of I-70. Most areas will stay dry tonight under partly cloudy skies. Temperatures only drop into the low 70s by morning.

EXTENDED: The slight storm chance continues into Sunday with possible morning rain and only an isolated afternoon storm chance. The best chance of rain is in eastern Missouri. The heat and humidity continue as afternoon high temperatures reach the low 90s and heat indices in the mid to upper 90s. The work week will start off hot but a cold front will bring a chance of storms Monday night and cool temperatures a few degrees, although we’ll still see above average temperatures. Storms ahead of the cold front late Monday will start out strongest to the northwest, but will weaken as they drop south into our area. Regardless, we have a marginal threat of severe storms Monday night where a few severe storms are possible bringing the chance of damaging winds and hail. Highs will reach in the upper 80s to near 90s with nights near 70 most of next week. Luckily, humidity will drop behind the cold front by Tuesday.
