Another Summer-like Weekend for Mid-Missouri

TONIGHT: With this warm and humid air mass in place, storms are possible again overnight tonight and into early Sunday with the best chance east of HWY 63 and north of I-70. Most areas will stay dry tonight under partly cloudy skies. Temperatures only drop into the low 70s by morning.

SUNDAY : We’ll be looking at another hot and humid day to end the weekend across Mid-Missouri. Temperatures will climb into the low 90s once again under partly cloudy skies and winds out of the south at 10-13 mph. Another chance of an isolated storm will remain in the afternoon, but again most places stay dry. Heat indices will be in the upper 90s so be sure to drink plenty of water and wear light colors.

EXTENDED: The work week will start off hot but a cold front will bring a better chance of storms Monday night into Tuesday morning. Temperatures will cool off a few degrees, although we’ll still see above average temperatures. Storms ahead of the cold front late Monday will start out strongest to the northwest, but will weaken as they drop south into our area. As the front slides into Mid-Missouri, we will be looking at a marginal chance for severe hail and wind. Once this front passes, we will feel a little more pleasant around the viewing area as the humidity backs off just a bit. Those pleasant conditions will be short-lived, however, as we see more hot and humid weather build into Mid-Missouri by the end of the week.
