Storm chances continue into weekend
TONIGHT: Spotty storms in the evening are possible but will become more likely after midnight as a cluster develops in western Missouri and tracks to the east overnight into early Friday morning. Lows will stay near 70 overnight.
FRIDAY: Morning showers and t-storms will end, leaving us with partly cloudy skies and high temperatures near 90 in the afternoon. There is a spot storm chance in the afternoon and a marginal severe threat for isolated storms with damaging wind or large hail.
EXTENDED: Through the weekend, this pattern continues as overnight storms will develop to the west-northwest and impact us during the morning hours each day through the weekend. The better chance for storms looks to be Friday morning and Saturday morning as the nose of the low level jet stream will be near us. While no organized severe storms will occur, the heat could make for a few isolated strong or severe storms with damaging wind and large hail the main threats. The overall pattern shows a chance of rain and t-storms each day, with afternoon highs near 90 and overnight lows near 70. Watch ABC 17 News for the latest forecast and check back here for updates.
