Heat & Humidity have returned, Storm chances increasing for Thursday night

THIS EVENING: We remain clear throughout this afternoon into the evening commute as temperatures continue to remain well above average. We’re watching increasing humidity as well, as southerly flow returns to Mid-Missouri.

TONIGHT: Temperatures will remain in the upper 60s tonight with winds out of the south from 3-5 mph making for a bit of a milder night. We’ll see a mix of clear skies and clouds as a weakening area of thunderstorms pushes in from the north, but will slowly dry out before affecting our area.

EXTENDED: Your Thursday morning commute will be dry as we continue to watch clouds build into the region. Another hot one is on tap Thursday as temperatures rise into the upper 80s and low 90s, with dewpoints near 70 making for an uncomfortably humid day. Thankfully with increasing cloud cover, we may have a chance to hold those temperatures in the upper 80s. Storm chances are increasing into Thursday night as an upper level disturbance passes to our north. Storms look to fire across western Missouri during the evening commute and will track their way eastward along I-70 through the night. Storms look to refire, especially along and north of I-70 through the late night hours into Friday morning. Widespread severe storms are not expected at this time. Storm chances are also in the forecast for the weekend, especially in the afternoons aided by the heating of the day. Watch ABC 17 News for the latest forecast and check back here for updates.
