Pleasant June afternoon, but heat and humidity return this week

MONDAY: It’s a pleasant Monday across Mid-Missouri as low humidity and cloud coverage is bringing the brief return to spring. A weak disturbance tracking across the region is keeping clouds in place, which will limit the amount of sun we see into the afternoon hours. Highs climb into the upper 70s today with even cooler conditions into the night.

TONIGHT: A beautiful night is on tap for Mid-Missouri, as clear skies and fairly light winds out of the southeast allow lows to bottom our near 60.

EXTENDED: We continue to stay dry through midweek, but we’re watching a series of disturbances developing along a growing ridge of high pressure over the central plains. With the growing ridge we are going to see a nice warm up we head through the middle of this week. Expect highs in the mid 80s Tuesday, which will climb into the upper 80s close to 90 by Wednesday, both days with sunny skies. We will see an unsettled weather pattern developing across Mid-Missouri as we begin to see increasing rain chances into the weekend, starting Thursday. We’ll continue to track any thunderstorm risks headed into that timeframe. Make sure you stick with ABC17 for the latest updates in your forecast!
