Jefferson City teenager arrested after man found shot in car
The Jefferson City Police Department took one person into custody after a man was shot Thursday afternoon.
Police sent a release late Thursday night that said officers took an 18-year-old man into custody for his role in the shooting.
Police responded to calls for shots fired and a vehicle striking a building around 1 p.m. in the area of Dunklin and Maple Streets. Officers found a man with a gunshot wound inside of the vehicle. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police did not provide an update on the victim’s condition.
According to the department, charges will be submitted to the Cole County prosecutor for assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.
