MoDOT suspending work zones over Memorial Day weekend

Missouri Department of Transportation crews are pausing road work for the Memorial Day weekend.

Crews will stop work in most work zones at noon Friday. Work is set to resume at 9 Tuesday morning.

Some lane and road closures may remain in place.

It it to help reduce traffic delays across the state during the busy travel weekend, according to MoDOT.

“We really just try to stand down operations and get our activity off of the road as much as we can to allow traffic to flow for them, ’cause you know it really is a peak travel time,” said Randy Aulbur with MoDOT Central District.

Crews will continue work on some major replacement projects, according to Aulbur.

If you are planning to travel, you can check the MoDOT Traveler Map here to see which work zones will remain in place.
