Missouri lawmakers to meet for special session, Special House Investigative Committee hearing

The state Capitol is expected to be busy on Tuesday as lawmakers meet for the second day of a special session, and others meet for the Special Investigative Committee on Oversight hearing.

On Friday, committee members filed House Resolution 2, which would allow it to start the process of impeachment by filing articles of impeachment if probable cause is found.

House lawmakers will be reviewing and voting on the resolution in the coming weeks.

The investigative committee hearing will be open to the public, and attorneys representing the office of the governor are expected to be in attendance.

The attorneys gave the committee proposed rules they want it to follow for the remaining committee hearings. The proposed rules include keeping hearings open to the public unless the majority of the committee voted in public to close a meeting.

If a meeting was voted to be closed, the proposed rules said the attorneys representing the office of the governor would still be allowed in the meeting.

The House special session starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday, and the Special Investigative Committee on Oversight hearing starts at 11 a.m.
